Submitting Art to Third & Wall

“The voyage of discovery is not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

You, the Artists, are our “new eyes” on the world.  You lead us to new landscapes by sharing ideas, techniques and perspectives that we could never have imagined or created on our own.  All of us at Third & Wall Art Group look forward to the thought-provoking discoveries to which you guide us, and embrace your unique talents.

Your dedication and hard work can be diffused by the business aspects of art – publishing, distribution, how to market yourself and your art, how to deal with copyright infringement.  At Third & Wall, we’ll guide you through the art publishing and selling maze.  We’re passionate about mentoring, supporting and promoting our artists. Our goal is to provide you with the freedom to do what you were born to do – create.  We work hard and smart to gain artist exposure and recognition within the art community and mainstream decorative markets.

What does Third & Wall sell, and to whom?

We produce Print on Demand Fine Art on a variety of substrates, and offer a beautiful selection of our artists’ original artworks.  We work with the art and décor trade – wholesale framers and retailers, developers, corporate accounts, design consultants and galleries, as well as license to manufacturers.  We team up with our artists to create exclusive artwork that will set our clients’ stores or businesses apart in the market.

Who can submit artwork?

We invite submissions from artists who create unique, well-executed artwork in any two-dimensional medium (oils, acrylics, mixed media, collage, photography, paintings on aluminum, paintings on wood, paintings on plexiglass, monotypes, monoprints, etc.). We’re looking for high-quality art with a somewhat mainstream decorative appeal, but that also pushes the envelope and introduces new looks and unique styles.

How and where do I submit my work?

We prefer to receive slides or positive transparencies, but we will also accept reasonably color-accurate color copies. You can also email digital files that adequately represent your work, or direct us to your websites, bearing in mind that color is not consistent across different computer monitors. If you mail your submission, include an SASE so that we can return your submission to you. Please do not send us original artwork unless specifically requested to do so.

Send your submission with SASE to:

What types of subject matter and style does Third & Wall prefer?

We welcome a wide variety of subject matter and styles.  Most importantly, the art must be well-executed, with subject matter and colors that are on-trend, timeless or interesting.  Abstract, traditional, contemporary, retro, vintage… landscape, figurative, animals, florals, gardens, travel, cuisine, houses, tropical. What do you like to paint? We’d love to see it!

What happens when Third & Wall receives my submission?

Our Creative Team reviews art submissions continually.  Please be patient, we will respond to you as quickly as we are able.  If your imagery has potential for our particular markets, we may contact you to ask a few questions and/or may request that you share more imagery so that we can get a better idea of the character of your work.

In the event that we decide that your works are not appropriate for publication by Third & Wall, please know that this decision is NOT in any way a subjective judgment on the aesthetic quality of your artwork.  Most of our publishing decisions are driven by our trend research and anticipation of market demands, and it is possible that your imagery is not a fit for our target markets at that particular time.

How does the signing process work?

Once we’ve determined that your art has the potential to succeed in the marketplace, we’ll work with you to develop a creative partnership.  We’ll send a sample contract for your review, negotiate flexible publishing terms, answer any questions you may have and work closely with you to make sure that both parties have a thorough understanding of the process and the expectations.  We’ll work with you to determine the most appropriate presentation of your images, and also create opportunities for you to sell your original works and to create commissioned artworks.  We partner with dedicated, skilled professionals in the art reproduction field, so you can be assured that published reproductions of your art will be of the absolute highest quality possible.

Will Third & Wall promote me and my artwork?

Yes, we will!  Once you’ve signed with Third & Wall, we are partners.  Your success is important to us, and translates to success for everyone. This may include (but isn’t limited to) exposure and promotion through tradeshows, advertising, media releases, website features, email marketing, direct mail, promo sheets and, where possible, gallery shows.
