Biography

Keith Morgan was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and spent most of his free time outdoors cycling, hiking, camping and swimming. Says the artist, “I love being out in the beauty of nature”.

Keith attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and graduated with a BA in Psychology. After graduation he went to work for his father at a structural steel fabrication plant. He moved back to Charlotte in 2010 and hopes to move to Washington state in the near future. “I want to be closer to the rocky coast, the redwoods, and the beauty I find there.”

“My love of photography is something that has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Even growing up I was always the kid with the camera snapping away. I bought my first dSLR in the spring of 2007 in preparation for a trip to Oregon. I spent about 10 days driving from Portland down to Sacramento, CA taking in all the sights and beauty I could along the way. The trip and the camera changed my life; something I had always enjoyed became a passion and ambition. I returned home with a new found desire to create photographs of the beauty I had always admired around me.”

Keith spends most of his free time shooting photographs, reading about photography, and processing images. “I was working second shift at the time and didn’t change my sleep schedule on the weekends. I had nothing to do on Sunday evenings, and began walking around downtown Winston- Salem at night shooting images. Thus began my interest in night photography, which complemented my love for shooting nature. I learn best through trial and error and have been completely self-taught through books and the internet. I love travel and landscape photography and am on the road taking pictures as often as I can.”
