making art work for you

From The Studio of Randy Hibberd

RandyHibberd_Pic

Randy Hibberd is a genius at creating timelessly elegant, upscale contemporary artwork that integrates boldly and seamlessly into all types of commercial and residential interiors.

What do you first do when you get to the studio in the morning?
Coffee coffee coffee . . . and change into my painting clothes like Mr. Rogers.

How many paintings do you work on at a time?
I usually have 3-6 paintings going on at all times. You never know what mood you’ll be in when entering the studio walls; it’s fun to have options.

Do you have a dream project that you would like to work on?
Solo show at the Guggenheim.

UnknownIf you could paint with anyone, who would it be?
I love to paint with my beautiful daughters Riley and Rachel . . . I could paint with them everyday!

Is there an idea you would like to explore?
I’m always fired up to explore new ideas , that’s the rush of painting – when you’re inspired and can’t wait to get to the studio.

What is your favorite time of day to paint?
2-6 pm. The coffee has fully kicked in, goofing off has subsided and the pressure is on to get something done for the day.

Unknown-1Do you ever get “stuck” on a piece? If so, what do you do?
Getting “stuck” is normal practice in my abstract world . Sometimes it flows, sometimes it’s junk. Most times I battle through until I find a solution . . . just keep painting. But on rare occasions I just walk away and come back fresh the next day. This always yields a new perspective and a solution reveals itself .

What is up next on your easel?
Magazine pages. Tons of ever-evolving magazine photos.

  2. Hello, I am looking for 3 pieces of art that I believe were made by Randy Hibberd, they are in the Marriott Bay View, Newport Beach, CA. I have searched his work, and I am unable to locate them. Perhaps you could help me determine if these are in fact his works of art, and if they are available. I can email you a photo I took of the paintings.

  3. Hi Randy,
I was given what I believe is the original painting of Jamacian Sunrise which I love. But due to some medical needs I need to raise some moola to pay the surgeons. The painting in the frame is 25 14” square. Why won’t the Kevin Barry Gallery consign it for me and do you know we’re I could sell it for a decent price. I love the piece but I’m buried under debt. How much might I be able to get for it if you don’t mind my asking. I am a glass artist myself, working with creating cool custom mirror finishes for hotels and restaurants and the 1% but have not been able to work for one year due to two shoulder surgeries. Hope this finds you well and I’m sure your get a Guggenheim show if you stick with it. Every thought of pulling viewers into your paintings using mirrors. I’m also a glass etcher and have done some nice work using that technique as well. Sincerely,
    John West.
PS I can send you a pic of your/my painting if you like. I checked it out under magnification and it’s definitely not a print, brushes strokes are clearly visible.

  4. Can you let me know if the artwork I’m looking for is by Randy? I am trying to locate a copy to purchase but do not know the artist. Thank you!

  5. Good afternoon,

I would like to know what Mr. Hibberd was thinking when he painted “Even Flow”. My Lawrey has the painting in her conference room. It’s a very beautiful painting. I got a spiritual flow from it and was just curious to know what inspired it.

    Thank you
