Third and Wall Art Group Debuts at Art Expo New York 2006

Company announces "New Address for Art" - industry's first artist-centric publisher to change the way artists connect with enthusiasts

There's a new address for art, attendees at Art Expo New York learned today. Third & Wall Art Group, a new and unique publishing company based in Seattle, will officially announce its formation today, launching collections from an initial family of 12 exceptional artists. One such artist is Liz Jardine, one of today's most innovative and sought-after talents.

"Our goal is to make art more accessible to everyone," said Aimee Clarke, Creative Director of Third & Wall. "Our name symbolizes that goal. Art should not be lofty and out of reach - it should be as familiar and accessible as a street address."

Unlike traditional art publishers who primarily focus on the market channel - designers, framers and retailers - and find artists to match their needs, Third and Wall focuses on recruiting and signing top artists and matching their talents to the most appropriate channels. This difference is crucial in understanding the mission of Third & Wall.

"We are artist representatives first," said Clarke. "We will partner with each artist individually, mentoring them and facilitating their career goals to help them become commercially successful artists. Too often we've seen great art and great artists blocked from the market by the 'business' side of art. Third & Wall flips the model on its head." Adds Clarke, "We will focus on a smaller portfolio of artists to ensure that we provide them with the highest quality support and representation possible."

The company was founded by a number of industry veterans, many of whom have worked together throughout their careers. The inspiration to create Third & Wall came from their personal experiences with representing artists in what can be a bewildering and impersonal industry.

The Third & Wall team members draw on their collective 80-plus number of years in the industry, leveraging their contacts within the individual market channels and their understanding of the artist and industry needs to provide a true platform for success.

"You can see the passion in their eyes and hear it in their voices," said artist Liz Jardine. "Third and Wall's commitment to the artists first is nothing short of revolutionary, and I know we're all excited to work with them. We've all heard stories of artists being taken advantage of or feeling helpless among the powers that be in the industry. Bravo, Third & Wall!"
